What is the Kyuubi

As I have said in the past the Nine tailed fox is sealed on Naruto's stomach where the solar plexus chakra is located~

  • The solar plexus chakra (third chakra), also known as manipura, is an energy vortex located near the stomach.
  • The energy stored in this chakra is the energy of identity, awareness, power, knowledge and curiosity. The solar plexus chakra controls more organs than the other 6 chakras. It is also responsible for controlling metabolism and the nervous system. It is suspicious, sophisticated, and is not child-like but parent-like.
  • If your solar plexus chakra becomes the dominant chakra, you may experience low self-esteem, hatred and fear. Your ego may be the one controlling most of your decisions. This will cause a false identity of who you are, which will also bring a lot of pain and suffering into your life.

  • The Solar Plexus Centre is one of the main power chakras of the individual. Through this centre,  the various spiritual energies enter for distribution to various parts of the body.
  • This chakra is sometimes described as yellow in colour, although it would be more accurate to consider it as orange or yellow-orange.  Because yellow is also the colour of the Lower Mental Body and the Higher Spiritual Intuition, some writers refer to this as a "mental chakra" or associate it with rational-intellectual faculties. This is quite incorrect. The Solar Plexus Chakra - like the Heart Chakra above it and the Navel Chakra below it - is a purely Emotional Centre.
  • Open and Balanced: You have a deeply fulfilling emotional life. You take an expansive, outgoing, and sociable attitude to the world. You are able to feel the sweetness of life, and have a sense of belonging and fitting in perfectly in the universe. You feel daring and confident and able to take risks. Hence this is the chakra associated with the leader, the explorer, and the charismatic extrovertive individual.
  • Overactive: You are ruled by ambition, pride, fear, love of fame, desires and passions, and likes and dislikes; you are overly concerned with their place in life and their relation with others; you may crave the company of other people and be unable to cope or amuse yourself on your own.
  • Malfunctioning: You are easily overwhelmed by emotions or caught up by astral forces.

Because the solar plexus is also where the ego is kept I looked up its meaning, which describes the nine tailed fox well:

Ego
In psychoanalytic theory, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and mediates between the person and external reality.

The “I” or self of any person ( ego  is Latin for “I”). In psychological terms, the ego is the part of the psyche that experiences the outside world and reacts to it, coming between the primitive drives of the id and the demands of the social environment, represented by the superego.

The Nine Tailed Fox first unleashes its power during a fight in episode 16 about 4/5ths the way in and in 17.

In "Naruto Shippuden" things get serious~

Episode 40-41 the nine tailed fox's chakra overcomes Naruto, this time serious consequences arise about the usage of the Kyuubi's power. Sorry about the commercials, it was the only version I could find.
